Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has urged newly elected Panchs to act as catalysts for transforming their villages into modern development hubs. Focus on Clean, Green, and Transparent Governance

The Chief Minister called for a comprehensive campaign to make villages clean, green, and pollution-free. He encouraged proactive tree planting and other environmental initiatives to improve the state’s ecological balance.

To ensure transparency, Mann advocated for holding Gram Sabhas where decisions on village development projects can be made openly. He stressed that funds must be utilized judiciously, with every decision made in full public view.

Rural Libraries: A Catalyst for Youth Empowerment

Mann announced that the state government is setting up rural libraries equipped with modern amenities like Wi-Fi and solar power. These libraries will provide access to world-class literature and curriculum books, aiming to cultivate a culture of reading and empower youth. He urged panchayats to pass resolutions for establishing more libraries, which he said could help produce future bureaucrats, scientists, and technocrats.

Eliminate Groupism for Unified Progress

Addressing the issue of groupism, Mann called on Panchs to treat all villagers equally, stating that once elected, the panchayat represents the entire village. “Groupism hampers progress; it’s time to work unitedly for the welfare of all,” he added.

A Call for Transparent and Responsive Leadership

The Chief Minister reminded Panchs of their responsibility to lead with honesty and transparency. He urged them to consult villagers on major decisions and work towards providing modern amenities for all.

Mann also lauded villages that elected their panchayats unanimously, calling it a testament to their commitment to harmony and collective progress. He expressed gratitude to voters for their active participation in the elections, underscoring the importance of their role in shaping the future of their communities.

A Vision for Model Villages

In conclusion, the CM called on Panchayats to zealously work towards transforming their villages into model villages, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of all residents. “With dedication and transparency, you can shape the destiny of your villages and make Punjab a beacon of progress,” he said.
