Trials for Sports Wing to Begin from April 8, Organized by Sports Department

District Sports Officer Harpinder Singh informed that, as per the guidelines of the Punjab Sports Department, selection trials for admitting players into Sports Wing (Day Scholar and Residential) schools are being organized starting from April 8.
He stated that trials for Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (boys and girls) categories in sports such as athletics, table tennis, weightlifting, gymnastics, football, kabaddi, basketball, hockey, kho-kho, volleyball, handball, swimming, wrestling, cricket, lawn tennis, and cycling will be held from April 8, 2025, to April 12, 2025, at Polo Ground, Patiala.

For these trials, players enrolled in schools affiliated with Patiala district are eligible. The birth dates for eligibility are as follows: for Under-14, players born on or after January 1, 2012; for Under-17, on or after January 1, 2009; and for Under-19, on or after January 1, 2007. Players participating in the trials can appear before the respective selection committees for their games on April 8, 2025, at 8:00 AM. They are required to bring a copy of their Aadhaar card and one photograph along with them.
