Chandigarh, December 10
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The accused, Raghbir Singh, was arrested while accepting the bribe from a complainant in Bathinda.

The complainant had alleged that the ASI demanded the bribe to favor him in a police case. The Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and apprehended the accused red-handed.
A case has been registered against the ASI under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigations are underway.
