Chandigarh, December 12:
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) and his associate for accepting a bribe of Rs 14,000. The accused, Gurmeet Singh and Anil, were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a complainant in Patiala.

The complainant had alleged that the MVI demanded the bribe to clear a driving license test and vehicle fitness certificate. The Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and arrested the accused.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both individuals, and further investigations are underway.
