Chandigarh, November 22
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Ravinder Kumar, a Junior Engineer (JE) at the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Sub Division Kahnuwan in Gurdaspur district. The arrest was made for accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.

A complaint was lodged by Saroop Singh, a resident of Sathiali village in Gurdaspur, alleging that the JE demanded the bribe for installing a commercial electricity meter for his newly built pipe factory.
The VB laid a trap and caught the JE red-handed while accepting the bribe. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused, who will be presented in court.
The VB’s action underscores its commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring transparency in government services.
