Vigilance Bureau Busts Corruption in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation
Chandigarh, November 1
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested a Data Entry Operator, Gurdeep Singh, from the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation for accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
The accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a local resident who had filed a complaint with the VB. The complainant alleged that Gurdeep Singh demanded the bribe to facilitate the submission of nomination papers for the panchayat elections.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The VB is conducting further investigations into the matter.
