Vigilance Bureau Nabs Pathankot Engineer for Bribery

Chandigarh, July 26: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Friday arrested Jatinder Kumar, a Junior Engineer with the Municipal Corporation of Pathankot, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh.

According to a VB spokesperson, Kumar was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a complainant, Rashpal Singh, who alleged that the engineer had demanded the money to overlook an illegal colony matter.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and the accused will be produced in court. The VB is continuing its investigation into the matter.

This arrest is part of the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to curb corruption within the state.
