Vigilance Bureau Nets Two More in Nursing Admission Scam

Chandigarh, 4 August

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has apprehended two more individuals involved in a nursing admission and examination scam. Aruna Chhabra, former principal of K.D. College of Nursing, Mahilpur, and Dr. Kuldeep Singh Mehrok, owner of Mehrok College of Nursing and Medical Sciences, have been arrested for their alleged role in the irregularities.

The duo is accused of colluding with officials from the Punjab Nursing Registration Council (PNRC) to manipulate admissions, examinations, and results in private nursing colleges. The investigation revealed that fake records were created, and examinations were conducted without proper documentation for several students.

This latest development comes after the earlier arrest of Charanjit Kaur Cheema, former registrar of PNRC, and Dr. Arvinderveer Singh Gill in connection with the same case.

The Vigilance Bureau is continuing its probe into the matter.
