Patiala, March 13
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Patiala Urban MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli honoured 100 women entrepreneurs during a special event titled “My Business, My Identity”. He stated that the purpose of the event was to salute the initiatives of women in becoming self-reliant and to further strengthen their role in society.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Kohli said that women are the strong foundation of society and are setting new benchmarks of success through their capability and hard work in every field. He noted that today women are advancing in education, trade, industry, agriculture, social service, and every sector, giving a new direction to families and society through their efforts.
He informed that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government is running various schemes and campaigns to economically empower women and make them self-dependent. The main objective of the government is to provide employment and self-employment opportunities to women, thereby giving them a strong identity in society.

SDM Gurdev Singh Dham said that such events boost the morale of women and inspire other women to move forward and realize their dreams. He assured that the government will always remain committed to the welfare and development of women.
The honoured women shared their experiences during the event, saying that such recognition is a matter of pride for them and will motivate them to do even better work. They also expressed gratitude to the government and MLA Kohli.
The event was attended by SDM Dham, the entire staff of the SDM office, District Incharge Aarti Gupta, Halqa Coordinator Ruby Bhatia, Naib Tehsildar Armaan, Varun Parashar, and a large number of women.
