The Women Helpline No. 181 program, managed by the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development of Punjab, offers prompt and emergency support to women in distress. According to Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur, this helpline has become a vital resource for women across the state.
The Cabinet Minister highlighted that the Women Helpline No. 181 initiative represents a significant effort by the Punjab Government to cater to women in urgent need, specifically targeting those impacted by violence. She emphasized that any woman experiencing violence or harassment can reach out to the helpline number 181 for assistance.

Dr. Kaur further revealed that approximately 150 calls are received daily from women seeking help. She noted that each month, around 4,000 to 5,000 women access essential support through the 181 helpline.
The Cabinet Minister explained that any woman facing injustice or violence can reach this helpline from anywhere in Punjab. The state’s One Stop Centers and associated offices are prepared to take immediate action to assist these women.
She reiterated that the primary goal of this scheme is to safeguard the well-being of women. Women or girls in need can simply dial the helpline number 181 for immediate support. She concluded by affirming that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is dedicated to advancing women’s welfare.
