The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season is set to begin on February 14 and run until March 15. All five teams have announced their captains for the upcoming season. Returning captains Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, who led Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru to victory in 2023 and 2024 respectively, will continue to lead their teams.

Here’s the full list of WPL 2025 captains:
- Delhi Capitals: Meg Lanning (Australia)
- Gujarat Giants: Ashleigh Gardner (Australia)
- Mumbai Indians: Harmanpreet Kaur (India)
- UP Warriorz: Deepti Sharma (India)
- Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Smriti Mandhana (India)
Team Captain Details:
- Delhi Capitals (Meg Lanning): Lanning, a highly decorated Australian captain with multiple World Cup and Commonwealth Games titles, will continue to lead DC. The Orange Cap winner (most runs) in the inaugural WPL season, Lanning has scored 676 runs in 18 WPL matches.
- Gujarat Giants (Ashleigh Gardner): Gardner takes over the captaincy from Beth Mooney. The Australian all-rounder, a three-time T20 World Cup winner, has scored 324 runs and taken 17 wickets in 16 WPL matches.
- Mumbai Indians (Harmanpreet Kaur): Kaur, the Indian women’s cricket team captain across all formats, will once again lead MI. She captained MI to the inaugural WPL title in 2023 and has scored 549 runs in 17 WPL matches.
- UP Warriorz (Deepti Sharma): Sharma takes over from the injured Alyssa Healy. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Sharma will be the first player to captain her home franchise in the WPL. UP Warriorz’s second-highest wicket-taker with 19 wickets, and the league’s MVP last season, Sharma has previously captained Bengal, East Zone, and Velocity.
- Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Smriti Mandhana): Mandhana, India’s leading run-scorer in women’s T20Is, will continue to captain RCB. She led RCB to the title in 2024. Mandhana has scored 449 runs in 18 WPL matches.
