In a groundbreaking infrastructure initiative, Punjab Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President Aman Arora, inaugurated a unique Multi-Utility Bus Stand in Cheema town, Sunam Assembly Constituency. This first-of-its-kind facility in Punjab seamlessly integrates public transportation with a dedicated sports complex, marking a significant step in innovative community development.
Speaking at the inauguration, Arora highlighted that the state-of-the-art bus stand, built at a cost of ₹5.06 crore and spanning 16,555 square feet, transforms traditional infrastructure into a vibrant community hub that goes beyond mere transportation.

“This pioneering bus stand, integrated with sports facilities, is designed to maximize public utility and empower our youth,” said Mr. Arora. He emphasized that development should be multi-dimensional, adding, “This project reflects the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Punjab Government to implement innovative, people-centric policies that address diverse community needs under one roof.”
The ground floor of the facility is designed for efficient transit and commerce, featuring six dedicated bus counters, a spacious waiting hall for passenger comfort, and six commercial shops to promote local entrepreneurship. It also includes an Adda Fee office, a loading/unloading platform, public parking, and modern toilet blocks, ensuring a seamless experience for commuters and local businesses.
The first floor houses a flagship multi-purpose sports complex, a key element of Arora’s visionary concept. This cutting-edge space supports various sports disciplines, including wrestling, judo, kabaddi, karate, and kickboxing, providing local athletes with a modern training environment to develop their skills.
Arora noted that this project redefines community development in Punjab by blending essential services with opportunities for health and wellness, setting a new standard for civic infrastructure.
