To revive tourism in the Kashmir Valley following the Pehalgam incident, JK students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh, organized the 6th Shikara Race at Ghat Number 18, Dal Lake, Srinagar.
The event was graced by Ms. Sakina Itoo, Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, as the Chief Guest, who flagged off the race. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman of Aryans Group, presided over the event. Around 50 shikaras participated under the theme “Aryans Welcomes You In Kashmir.”

Minister Itoo lauded the students and management of Aryans Group, recalling their supportive role post-Pehalgam incident. She noted, “Aryans Group played a positive role when Kashmiri students studying outside the valley faced disturbances. They opened hostel doors to affected students and conducted special semester exams for JK students in collaboration with me.”
Dr. Kataria thanked the Minister for her participation and encouragement. He highlighted Kashmir’s enduring beauty, stating, “Kashmir is and will always be a heaven on earth, undeterred by incidents like Pehalgam.” He also praised the JK students of Aryans for their consistent efforts to promote the Valley’s welfare despite studying outside, commending their success in organizing the 6th Shikara Race.
The event saw the presence of Dr. Parveen Kataria (Director General), Dr. Garima Thakur (Deputy Director), Ms. Manpreet Mann (Dean, Scholarship), Er. Mudasir Ahmed, Er. Rayees, Er. Jahangir Rashid, Er. Shahid Lone, Er. Umar Nazir, Mr. Danish, Mr. Saquib, and others.
