Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated eight public libraries in Barnala district on Saturday, constructed at a cost of ₹2.80 crore, with the aim of fostering reading habits among the youth and empowering them through knowledge.
The Chief Minister elaborated that these libraries, located in the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Bhadaur and Mehal Kalan, have been established in the villages of Shehna, Dhaula, Talwandi, Majhuke, Kutba, Deewana, Wajidke Kalan, and Thulliwal. Each library, built at a cost of ₹35 lakh, is equipped with modern amenities including computers, internet access, high-quality literature, and books tailored for competitive exam preparation.
Mann emphasized that these libraries are igniting new aspirations among students, enabling those in remote villages to access global knowledge without leaving their communities. He expressed confidence that the facilities will significantly elevate the intellectual capabilities of students, helping them achieve their dreams and aspirations.

The Chief Minister described the libraries as a transformative initiative aimed at driving growth and prosperity in Punjab.
