-Executive Officer of MC Morinda, Parwinder Singh Bhatti, Transferred for Laxity and Mismanagement in Garbage Collection

Taking stern action against negligence, Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh on Wednesday ordered the immediate suspension of Junior Engineer Naresh Kumar and Sanitary Inspector Varinder Singh of the Municipal Council, Morinda, following complaints from city residents about their dereliction of duty.
Early this morning, the Cabinet Minister, along with MLA Dr. Charanjit Singh, conducted a surprise inspection of Ward No. 5 and 6 near Chunni Road Rest House, Ward 13, 14, and 15 on Purana Bassi Road, and Shiv Nanda School Road. The visit revealed widespread mismanagement in garbage collection, with household waste scattered across the wards on a large scale.
Citing the Municipal Committee’s lax work culture, poor sanitary services, and inadequate city cleanliness, the Local Government Minister ordered the transfer of Executive Officer Municipal Council Parwinder Singh Bhatti of Morinda.

During the visit, residents of Ward No. 5 and 6 raised concerns about a long-standing issue of a blocked sewage system, with stagnant water affecting homes and the main road.
Addressing the sewage problem, Dr. Ravjot Singh issued a notice to Executive Engineer of the Sewage Board, Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, directing him to clear all blocked sewage pipes within one month, with a follow-up review scheduled after that period.
Present on the occasion were ADC (U) Pooja Seyal Grewal, SDM Morinda Sukhpal Singh, President Urban Area Morinda Navdeep Singh Tony, Jagtar Singh, Nirmalpreet Meharwan, Vivek Sharma, and Jagdev Singh Bittu.
