Punjab Courts Investment from Top Companies; IT Policy Nearing Approval

Chandigarh/New Delhi, January 8
In a bid to transform Punjab into a leading industrial hub, Punjab’s Industry & Commerce and Investment Promotion Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, met with CEOs and representatives of prominent national and international companies in New Delhi today.
Executives from companies specializing in information technology, artificial intelligence, infrastructure development, and other key sectors expressed positive interest in investing in Punjab, assuring Sond they would submit investment proposals. They responded favorably to the Punjab government’s initiatives to promote industry and investment.
During the meeting, Sond announced that Punjab’s information technology policy is finalized and expected to receive cabinet approval before March 31 of this year. He emphasized that the policy was developed after extensive research and consultation with key stakeholders and is poised to bring significant positive changes to Punjab’s IT sector.

Sond also highlighted the state government’s focus on skill development and noted that the Punjab investment portal has been recognized as the best in India, with 55,000 MSMEs registering on it within a single year. He further emphasized that the single-window system implemented by the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has unlocked new avenues for growth and development.
Sond extended an invitation to the investors and representatives to visit Punjab and experience its culture firsthand while exploring investment opportunities.
Also present at the meeting were Bal Mukand Sharma, Chairman of the Punjab State Food Commission; Sanjeev Gupta, Sector Officer at Invest Punjab; Danish Bilal, Senior Consultant at Invest Punjab; and several prominent investors, including Jagmohan Singh Sekhon (Chairman, SFO Foundation), Binu Nair (Vice President, Bootes Impex Tech Ltd.), Jatin Sindhi (MD, Skyboon), Sandeep Narang (Founder, Nexveda), Akshat Agarwal (Executive Director, ISFA), Ajinkya Dumbhare (Director, GenX AI), and Surajit Sarkar (CEO, GR Logistics).
