-10TH PASS ANGANWADI HELPERS WITH 10 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE TO BE PROMOTED SOON – CABINET MINISTER
-RECRUITMENT FOR 5,000 ANGANWADI WORKERS AND HELPERS TO START IN SEPTEMBER

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Punjab’s Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, announced a significant initiative, promoting 435 Anganwadi Helpers to the position of Anganwadi Workers.
Dr. Baljit Kaur elaborated that directives have been issued to promote 10th pass Anganwadi Helpers with over 10 years of service to the role of Anganwadi Worker.
She further stated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is dedicated to addressing the legitimate demands of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers. The government has approved compassionate appointments for dependents of Workers and Helpers who have become permanently disabled during service or are suffering from life-threatening illnesses. All District Programme Officers have been instructed to resolve pending compassionate appointment and transfer cases by August 31, 2025.
The Cabinet Minister announced that the recruitment process for approximately 5,000 vacant Anganwadi Worker and Helper positions will begin on September 1, 2025, following a transparent and merit-based approach. District officials and Child Development Project Officers have been warned that any negligence or corruption in the recruitment process will face strict action. The recruitment is set to be completed by September 30, 2025.
Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized that women’s empowerment is a key priority of the Punjab Government. She highlighted that these promotions are a vital step toward economic and social empowerment, enabling women to contribute significantly to their families and society.
